I WANT THE HOLY GHOST. HOW MANY DAYS SHOULD I FAST?

Some people say they’ll fast 40 days & they lose so much weight, while others lose their mind.

       When God puts a fast on you, you don’t get hungry. 

       Be led of the Spirit. Don’t ever fast until God leads you.  

       It’s God dealing with you.

Notice the Scripture says that AFTER Jesus fasted is when HE got hungry!  

       When you get hungry, IT’S TIME TO EAT.

Jesus Is Questioned About Fasting

MARK 2

18︎ The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. Then they came and said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”

19︎ And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. 

20︎ But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.

W M B ~  I moved out into the country, about three miles out of the city.  And so we were—been having dinner over at a little Dunkard restaurant where the…I believe it was the Mennonites. 

And they were a fine bunch of people that believes in holiness. And them little ladies, dressed just as nicely and godly, with their little—with their clothes hanging nice on them, and long hair, and clean as a pin; I just loved to eat there. 

And they were attending my meeting, and we just had a wonderful time. 

So on Sunday they closed the little place up. They was at the meeting. And especially, on Sunday they didn’t run it.

So I’d been fasting for about two or three days, and I was just going to preach that afternoon. 

I thought, “Well, seems like…” You never want to fast until you’re led to fast. 

Then if you get hungry, it’s time to eat. “Afterwards Jesus was afterwards an hungered.” 

Some of this saying, these people fasting and say, “I’m going to fast forty days,” and the false teeth falling out and losing weight, and…

My, you better stop that. You WAIT TILL GOD LEADS YOU to do that on those things. BE LED OF THE SPIRIT.

I’ve had people, after a certain book was wrote and put out about fasting, people come to my line: women, pregnant and things like that, come in my line, lose their, LOSE THEIR MIND, come—go into INSANE INSTITUTIONS from that. 

See? ’Course you can’t do that. Just because somebody else done it, that’s no sign that you’re supposed to do it. Let God lead you to do what you’re doing.

If you’re led to, when you get hungry, it’s time to eat. When God puts a fast on you, you don’t get hungry. It’s God dealing with you. “Jesus was afterwards an hungered.” See? After His fast was over, He hungered. But…So however, just let that…You just judge that by yourself, I’m…Your pastor is more apt—a better position to tell you those things. If I said wrong, or…Forgive me.

W M B ~ You’re, each one, set in God’s economy, just for its place. One FASTS all the time and communes with God, while another one casts out devils because this one is FASTING. 

But it’s the whole Body of Christ WORKING TOGETHER, the UNITY.

W M B ~ I don’t…The anointing of praying for the sick is a…It’s the same Spirit, but a different anointing while praying for the sick, than it is this way.

W M B ~ A few weeks ago, there was a circular letter put up here in Memphis, Tennessee, had my name signed to it, photostat copy, and said I had been with this person “for thirty days, on a fast.” 

THREE DAYS IS THE LONGEST I EVER FASTED IN MY LIFE. 

The person, I never heard his name in my life; said I come out with a fast from him, with him, rather, and said that I was to be there on certain days, tell all my friends around Memphis to be there at this certain meeting. 

I never heard of the place, never knowed the man, never knowed nothing about it, in my life; and a false, FORGED SIGNATURE. 

I don’t even sign my name; I don’t believe anybody could re-impersonate my signature, ’cause I don’t even know it after I signed it. 

So, it’s just such a bad thing, I don’t see how that anybody try to—try to make that.

He walked right on, just as calm and quiet as He could be. Why? He was simply UNCONSCIOUS OF FEAR or anything around Him. That’s right. 

Whether it was going to happen, or whether it wasn’t going to happen; He knowed it was going to happen BECAUSE GOD SAID SO. 

He didn’t say, “Oh, have I prayed through? Wonder if I fasted long enough? Wonder if I did this?” 

He just walked right on, unconscious. That’s right. He believed what God said was Truth. 

The Words must be fulfilled, and He knowed what His life was to fulfill Them. That’s right.

So I’d just COMMIT IT TO THE LORD. 

Say, “Now, Lord, WHEN YOUR TIME FOR US TO SELL IT, YOU’LL SEND A BUYER.” Then it’s committed to the Lord, take your hands off it and go ahead. I believe it’ll work.
