I PETER 1:3-8

Oh, What Joy
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

I PETER 1:3-8

God’s Words are recorded for a reason. When we read the Bible, it is not just a collection of stories and prophecies; the things we read there are to be applied to our lives. The same goes for Brother Branham’s Message: it was recorded for a purpose and that purpose is to apply it to our lives. It doesn’t matter if it is doctrine on baptism or a simple healing testimony. We can claim those stories as our own!

This former Methodist minister was suffering from a disease that is all too common in the world today, but his faith in the Word brought him through.

My name is José Carlos Soares Souto, I am 57 years old and I am married to Sister Beatriz Engrácia Rocha Souto, and I have 4 children: Pedro, Igor, Lucas, and Vitor.

In my family, some of the men from my great-great-grandfather (as far as I know), faced a mental illness called depression. We do not know the cause, but this disease has accompanied our family for a long time.

Among the patients, some became antisocial (smoking heavily, not leaving home, and unable to work), others even committed suicide while taking the treatment and taking the medications as prescribed. I was a Methodist pastor and believed to be among those who would not develop this disease.

On August 12, 2005 I received from God a revelation that showed me the Bible more fully. So I began to read Brother Branham’s messages. I was extremely impressed with the biblical security and the supernatural manifestations that accompany this ministry. Since I was not accepted in my church for sharing this message, I went back to secular work and asked for the cancellation of my ordination. After some time attending the Tabernacle of the Faith in Contagem, Minas Gerais, Brazil, I began to have the symptoms of the disease, however, it never occurred to me that this disease was so terrible. I began to walk inevitably along the same path as others, even taking medical treatment. I was antisocial, and I took six months of medical leave.

Realizing that it was getting worse, I went to get counseling with my pastor. Pastor Paul greatly encouraged me and told me that our God, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the Living God and now I would have a living experience with Him. The Pastor prayed for me, and I, now with a double will, began to exercise faith by reading the Bible and the messages of the Prophet Elijah for our day.

At nightfall, I could not sleep feeling a great deal of anguish, and then I began to hear a message “The Oddball” and in paragraphs 136 and 137, Bro. Branham made a judgment where a woman was going through a mental problem (nervous breakdown). Brother Branham said she would be healed, but not immediately. It would be in a space of 18 months to 2 years. And so it was. This sister was cured in exactly 18 months.

I heard this message on June 26, 2017 and today is January 26, 2019, exactly 18 months later. The only difference between me and that sister in healing was that I left the treatment and the medication against depression 32 days after I heard this message, that is, August 26, 2017, when I was healed by the Power of Faith in the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ. Today, in thanksgiving to God, 18 months later, I decided to share this testimony with our brothers and sisters in the Voice of God.

Thank you Lord for my Shepherd and for my Prophet and for my brothers in all the world.

Thank God, Amen.
